Michael Burney

Michael Burney is a partner at the firm Weis Burney. Michael focuses his practice on real estate transactions, representing parties in the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of commercial real estate, including multi-family projects, mixed-use, retail, and office developments. He has experience representing developers in all phases of development. Michael also has substantial experience representing landlords and tenants in retail and office commercial leasing transactions.

Michael is responsible for drafting, negotiating, and reviewing real estate sales contracts, loan documents, leases, and all other manners of related documents. He conducts due diligence on real estate transactions, including but not limited to reviewing titles and surveys, analyzing land use and development restrictions, and reviewing CCRs and other restrictive covenants.
